Lugia LEGEND: Top, Bottom and Complete Pair Price Guide

Identify Lugia LEGEND 113/123 and 114/123, see how the two halves fit together, and compare individual, complete-pair and graded prices correctly.

Quick answer

The English Lugia LEGEND from HeartGold & SoulSilver consists of two cards: the top half, 113/123, and the bottom half, 114/123. Check each half separately when comparing prices, and confirm whether a listing includes one card or both.

Key takeaways

  • Match the top and bottom halves
  • How much is Lugia LEGEND worth?
  • What makes the two-card artwork different?

Match the top and bottom halves

Two cards. One Lugia.HeartGold & SoulSilver

113/123 above 114/123. Tap either half to open its price and full scan.

Art: Shinji Higuchi. Card scans: Scrydex.

Both cards are named Lugia LEGEND, so the name alone cannot tell you which half a seller is offering. Match the collector number and the picture. The English pair belongs to HeartGold & SoulSilver; both halves credit Shinji Higuchi.

Keep the LEGEND label and number in your search. Lugia V, Lugia VSTAR, Lugia ex and other Lugia illustrations are different cards. The Lugia card index helps compare those printings without treating them as the same collectible.

How much is Lugia LEGEND worth?

There is no single price that describes every Lugia LEGEND listing. A result may refer to the top half, the bottom half, both cards together, or a professionally graded copy of one half.

Start with the current references on the top-half price page and bottom-half price page. Read the displayed source and variant, then compare the condition and language with the card you actually own. A market reference helps compare listings; it is not a guaranteed sale price.

For a rough reference for two ungraded halves, you can add comparable individual prices. That sum is a starting point for comparison, not proof of the amount a complete pair will sell for. One half may be damaged, the two may come from different sellers, and delivery charges can change the combined cost. Compare recent completed sales where available rather than relying on the highest asking price.

The card value guide explains the broader identification process. Use the price checker when you want to look up another exact card.

What makes the two-card artwork different?

Lugia LEGEND is a card design split across two physical cards. The printed instruction requires the matching half when putting it onto the Bench. Both halves therefore matter to the original game mechanic as well as the complete illustration.

That is different from ordinary cards whose artwork connects. For example, Spidops ex and Tarountula make a vertical scene while remaining separate Pokémon cards. The nine-card Galarian Gallery picture is another collecting layout, not a Pokémon LEGEND.

When displaying Lugia, place 113/123 above 114/123. Check the full scans before buying a pair; two copies of the top half do not complete the picture. The English numbers shown here should not be used to identify a Japanese printing, which needs its own language and set information.

Condition and graded copies

Inspect each half on its own. Look for edge whitening, corner wear, surface scratches and creases, using photographs of the front and back. A clean top half does not establish the condition of the bottom half. Ask for clear images when a listing only shows the assembled front.

For a graded card, match the collector number, grading company and numeric grade before comparing prices. A PSA 10 top-half result is not a valuation of an ungraded bottom half or of a complete pair. If a seller offers two slabs, inspect both labels and check that the sale includes both numbered cards.

Our condition and grading guide explains why raw condition descriptions and professional grades are different kinds of information. Population counts describe a grading company's records; they do not count every ungraded card in circulation.

A checklist before buying the pair

  1. Confirm 113/123 and 114/123 in the photographs and description.
  2. Check that both cards are the intended language and printing.
  3. Inspect condition separately for each half, including the backs.
  4. Compare one-card listings with one-card prices, and pairs with pairs.
  5. For graded copies, match each half's company, grade and label details.
  6. Add delivery costs and check exactly what the seller includes.

Keep track of both Lugia halves

Record the two exact cards in your collection so you can see whether you still need 113/123 or 114/123.

Common questions

Is Lugia LEGEND one card or two?

The collectible consists of two physical cards with different collector numbers. Together they form the complete Lugia LEGEND design. A listing that uses the singular name may still contain only one half.

Is the top or bottom half more valuable?

Compare the current prices for the exact halves under the same conditions. There is no reliable rule that one position is always worth more. Language, condition, grade and the sales being compared can change the result.

Does a photo of the complete picture mean both cards are included?

No. Confirm the quantity and collector numbers in the listing. A stock image or assembled display does not establish what the seller will send.

Are these the same as connected-art cards?

They share the appeal of a larger picture, but Pokémon LEGEND has a specific two-card design and printed play instruction. Browse the connected-artwork gallery for other display ideas, keeping each group's exact cards and layout separate.
